March Madness
No, this isn't about basketball.
It seems like all we tend to talk about is exhaustion. For the record, we do. There isn't one day that Chris or I aren't working. We don't generally mind it (especially if we can get good sleep at night) but all those "extra" things take a back seat. Things like date nights, taking the kids out somewhere (we have one car so if one of us is working the other won't have the car), hobbies, exploring our fair city, and even writing on our blog. It's not that we don't want to do those extra things, but we have other priorities. That's just the stage of life that God has us in and that's okay. I don't get upset at the madness because there is an abundance of blessing.
I'm very undeserving of what God continually gives me. The past couple of months I've tried to take a step back (especially from social media) and refocus my heart on God. Just to be clear, it's not that it wasn't focused on God.. it's more like when you're listening to a lecture but zoning in and out. So I needed to take a biblical coffee if you will and wake up from this winter slumber that I am in. It doesn't help when the weather decides to keep snowing like it does.
So to catch up on our lives the past few months...
Micah turned four and our insurance issues worked out and he is now able to go to school full time! He's been talking and singing more and is starting to enjoy playing with other kids! His hair is still as crazy as ever and gets it from his momma. But that's okay because I got it from mine.
Chris turned thirty-seven and annoyingly doesn't look it. I believe his youthful look stems from his youthful heart. Youthful and immature are two different things and I'm glad he's not the latter. He loves myself and the kids unconditionally and does everything to make sure we live our lives enjoying the fun side of life. He's a kid at heart and I'm glad because I am too. We're goofy and cheesy and I think that is a great thing to be.
Kenley is just as rambunctious as usual and will be three in May! She loves snow more than anything and I wouldn't be surprised if she moved somewhere with consistent snow when she grows up. S.O. to Jacob and his awesomeness for capturing the beauty of Kenley at her first birthday party (not hers, obviously). We are also going to have to start looking at schools for this little chatterbox and I am already mentally preparing for the notes we will be getting home from her teacher about how social she is.
And I am still here. Still doing this thing called life and trying to make the most of the time God has given me. I'm also not the greatest at catching snowflakes on my tongue or dodging my daughters snowballs. BTW the reason there are soo many snow pictures is because it snowed SEVERAL inches last night and this morning, but now it's almost four and has completely melted away. Oh Indiana. You never fail to surprise.
Easter is right around the corner and we are preparing for that! I'm slightly nervous since I have to run sound.. . for the first time.. . on Easter Sunday. No pressure or anything. It's going to be great! We would love to see you guys there and if anything to see my "expertise" and stressed out smile which looks similar to that one emoji .. you know the one I mean.
