Mila Avery
Our birth stories are always crazy, but Mila's might just be the craziest out of all of them.
After Mila was born I was exhausted.. I don't think anyone understands what that actually means. I love you Chris, but not even you. I was EXHAUSTED after having Mila. So much so, that even after TWO days (Yes, c-sections get you an extra day MAYBE two days after having a baby vs one day if you have a baby naturally) I was exhausted. Let me explain.. my exhaustion was so bad I was literally falling asleep while I was standing up. I mean EVERY SINGLE TIME. If I stopped walking I would fall asleep. I tried playing it off but it happened every single time I stopped moving. Believe me I tried sleeping but I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep.. not to mention the medical personnel bust in there every hour anyways and switch on lights and need to check on baby and stitches and bring meds etc etc etc. I'm sure everyone has experienced micro sleep at some point in their lives.. that's exactly what I was having but for days. It literally felt like I was in a fog that wasn't going to lift. Every time Chris thought I was losing my balance (that's what I told him) I was actually experiencing microsleep and the act of falling would wake me back up. Literally I could walk from the restroom to the bed and that split second of stopping at the side of the bed before struggling to get in.. that millisecond of stopping would cause me to fall asleep.
But now it's been a year later. I'm still pretty exhausted (even currently because it's 1:30 in the morning) but not in a crazy way. Mila was this crazy calm child .. at first. She's basically a dinosaur now. She will yell at you if she doesn't like what you're doing. She opens and SLAMS the cabinet doors closed when you're cooking in the kitchen and you haven't involved her in the process and also she wants food lol. She thinks having her bassinet swing on and swinging is super fun to climb in to and treats it like she's at an amusement park. She eats EVERYTHING. Salmon, avocado, eggs, pork, broccoli, cookies, fries, burgers.. you name it, she likes it. And it better be seasoned. She's never liked baby food. She LOVES music or anything that drops a beat.. even the dryer or washing machine. Seriously. If it drops a beat she will start dancing. 100% my child lol. She is wild and determined and will be (and is) a force to be reckoned with. She will take on the world and be a game changer. She is fearless. Our smallest baby who has only gained 10 pounds since birth, she is the strongest of them all. She will be the one that makes sure no one messes with Micah and will be his bestfriend. She will be the one to get Kenley to break out of her shell and try new things and not be so afraid of failure and learn to just relax and enjoy the moment. She will keep us on our toes and continually making sure we have a good insurance policy because she is a risk taker and none of the McCall Clan kids have had any injuries yet like casts but she might our first. I always thought it would be Micah with his parkor that he likes to do off of EVERYTHING but she might give him a run for his money.
