We're Back

Florida was good to us. The drive was not. Thirteen and a half hours to get to St. Augustine, and eighteen hours back. Least favorite part and personally I didn't count us as being on vacation until we were in St. Augustine, and I believed our vacation to be done when we had to get back in the car to come home. Driving was torture. Anyways, this post is going to be setup a bit different. I hope it's not too weird for you.

Spending time with family was AMAZING. Kenley stuck to her cousin like a stubborn jellyfish. There was no separating her from "Holly" and pity the fool that tried. It's pretty obvious who Kenley's favorite cousin is.

I'm pretty sure my nephew, Camden, drank coffee and Redbull every morning to get ready for the day. His energy was desirable and exhausting all at once. There wasn't too much need to workout when trying to keep up with this kid.

My Micah Man, the model, loved every second of being at the beach. He loved drawing in the sand and playing in the waves. For the record, I love that my kids are annoyingly photogenic and thankfully don't take after me.

Chris and I even went exploring one afternoon.. It also happened to be when the biggest storm that was making it's way across the south, finally hit St. Augustine. Regardless, I learned that my husband and his thirty odd years coming to St. Augustine, had never explored the Historic District downtown. Next time we go we are definitely going back to try a few coffee places and restaurants.

I loved the architecture in the Historic district and couldn't stop taking pictures, even though we were out in practically a monsoon.

Eventually the rain started to dramatically let up and it made exploring a bit more pleasant.

I will definitely miss the plant life in Florida.

Walking down to the beach every day always brought feelings of peace and happiness.

The three musketeers- Grandy, Hollyn, and Kenley

They are such goofballs. Plus, Kenley found it amusing to basically waterboard her Grandy.

Sigh.......

Micah's "come at me bro" to the waves. He was not afraid.

Kenley was a little more hesitant when it came to the waves and tended to keep to the shore.

Beach life.....

When at the beach, ice cream is a necessity.

I know this was a bit weird, but we're still trying to get back into a routine and well that should just be expected from us at this point. Our lives are a bit crazy and and thoroughly packed, so we do our best. We are beyond grateful for God blessing us with the time and financial support in order to be able to see our family. It had been over a year since we've seen them, and over four years since we've been able to go on vacation with them. We never know where God might take us next, but we continue to trust in Him and His provision. It might not look how we would like it to, but if we keep giving 110% to what He's called us to do then everything will work out according to His will. Our lives might be completely crazy and undesirable to anyone else, but when you stop looking at what YOU think life should look like, and start to look at Christ, He'll show the beauty in the everyday things. It doesn't have to be extraordinary to be beautiful. If you don't believe me, check out the pictures above.
